Aboriginal Art Sourcing for UK Architects and Designers

Studio Australis provides access to a breadth of contemporary Aboriginal art not typically available in the UK and Europe.

By sourcing in Australia to your brief, we bring the bold, unmistakable presence of exceptional works to interior design and architect led projects, and corporate acquisitions.

Your brief.

The perfect work.

Following a remote or on-site briefing, we search across an extensive body of work in Australia, giving greater opportunity to find the perfect piece for your project. Where the brief calls for it, we can also explore commissions.

Direct relationships.

Unrivalled access.

Our established relationships with artists, Aboriginal community-run Art Centres and trusted galleries, give you access to exceptional works that support fair returns, community benefit and cultural authority.

Provenance assured.

Logistics handled.

Every work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the artist or Art Centre. We provide clear pricing and lead times, manage all transport, importation and taxes. Framing can be arranged before final delivery. For standard artwork purchases, sourcing is included in the quoted artwork price.

Our process

1. PROJECT BRIEF - UK OR DIGITAL

We develop a clear project brief covering each placement, including scale, palette, context, timing and budget.

2. SOURCING - AUSTRALIA

We review an extensive body of available works across Australia, taking forward only those with clear relevance to your project.

3. INITIAL SELECTION - DIGITAL

A concise initial selection is shared privately to confirm the creative direction and overall project alignment.

4. FINAL SHORTLIST - DIGITAL

Following your feedback, we curate a final shortlist - typically two to three works per placement.

5. IN-PERSON VIEWINGS - UK

For larger projects, shortlisted works can be brought to the UK for private viewing before final selection. This allows you and your client to assess scale, presence and relationship to the space. With arrangements and fees agreed in advance.

6. FINAL SELECTION & SUPPLY

Final selections are confirmed from the digital shortlist or following an in-person viewing in London, where arranged. Selected works are supplied unframed for storage until the project is ready, or framed and installed in line with the project programme. Any shortlisted works brought to the UK but not selected, return to Australia.

Working with us

INTERIOR DESIGNERS AND ARCHITECTS

We work alongside your studio, preparing artwork selections for you to review and provide imagery, provenance and pricing needed to present to your client. We work with your project team and join client presentations where required. Our role is guided by you.

We also work alongside appointed art consultants, procurement teams, framers and installers. Our involvement is tailored to the project, from sourcing a single work to coordinating a collection, managing importation through to final placement. Our fees are typically included in the artwork purchase price.

We welcome introductory conversations and early-stage projects. Detailed sourcing begins once scope, budget and programme are agreed.

CORPORATE AND PRIVATE COLLECTIONS

We work directly with individuals and organisations seeking a defining work, a collection, or acquisitions developed progressively over time.

Our brief-led process brings together curatorial direction, ethical sourcing, clear provenance, internal approval materials and complete project delivery. We can work with your workplace and procurement teams, or alongside your appointed architect or interior designer.

AVAILABILITY

We work by appointment across the UK and Europe.

If our approach feels aligned with your project, we’d be delighted to discuss your brief.
